Photo: UA Jaguar and Ocelot Monitoring Project

A recent article in the Arizona Daily Star highlights the crucial efforts of citizen scientists in monitoring the endangered jaguar and ocelot in Arizona. The University of Arizona Wild Cat Research Center relies on a dedicated team of citizen scientists to check and maintain trail cameras, which has so far allowed identification and monitoring of three individual jaguars in Arizona in the past decade.
